About Suzanne Ruggles

The Barefoot Gardener, owned and operated by Suzanne Ruggles, has been in operation for the past sixteen years. Our employees are knowledgeable and trustworthy, work year-round, and adhere to the highest quality standards. We love our work and truly consider it an art form and a science We are an award winning, 100% organic company. Our main focus and passion is using native plants for their eco-friendly characteristics: their ease of care, their cost effectiveness, their safety to the soil, air, and water, and most importantly, for their co-evolutionary relationships with native wildlife, insects, and songbirds. We have been in business since 1991, and we have been on The Neighborhood Network’s Organic Landscaper Listing for 19 years.

Suzanne practices native habitat gardening to restore the earth by working with nature to promote diversity, beauty and harmony in the landscapes she co creates with Nature. Her work brings to her clients a more holistic and spiritual relationship with the environment.

Suzanne speaks monthly about native habitat gardening at The Nature Lyceum School for Organics in Westhampton, and she also sits on the Board of Directors of The Wildlife Rescue Center of the Hamptons, a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured wildlife.
